How to Get a Body Like Brad Pitt – 3 Rules to Get a Ripped Body

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Ever since the release of the movie Fight Club guys have been asking the question “how to get a body like Brad Pitt”?

This is because Brad Pitt seems to embody what most guys want to look like and what most girls want their boyfriends to look like. Rather than the huge muscle-bound guys that you see in the bodybuilding magazines, most girls prefer an average-sized, but incredibly toned and ripped body.

If you’re a skinny guy or hardgainer, or simply looking to lose some excess body fat, then I’ve got 3 rules that will show you how to get a body like Brad Pitt and make sure you never have to fear taking off your shirt again.

First Rule – Resistance Training To Gain Muscle Mass

If you look at Brad Pitt’s body in Fight Club you’ll notice that he’s not only ripped but has good muscular development and has made strength training a major part of his routine.

If you’re looking at how to get a body like Brad Pitt then you need to make weight training a major part of your routine.

Skinny guys and hardgainers are best advised to stick to free-weight compound exercises like Squats, Barbell Curls, Chest Press, Dips, and Bent Over Rows to maximize muscle growth and work multiple muscle groups at the same time.

To get abs like Brad Pitt you’ll need to do more than crunches. Use weighted cable exercises at the gym like Woodchoppers, and Cable Crunch to see massive gains and definition in your abs.

Second Rule – Fat Burning Diet

Reducing your body fat is the way to look ripped and get a body like Brad Pitt. Essentially, everyone has the same muscular structure; it’s just that excess body fat tends to hide it on most of us.

Cutting out unnecessary saturated fats, particularly found in fast and processed foods, and focusing your diet around fresh lean meats, fruits, vegetables, and complex carbohydrates like oatmeal, is a big step in getting ripped.

If you’re a skinny guy or hardgainer, you want to take extra care with your diet, and I would recommend you define your goals first and then focus on them. In other words, it’s best to gain muscle mass first and then cut away the excess body fat afterwards.

In this way you’d first be focusing on a weight gain diet where you are consuming significantly more calories to add bulk, and then can begin to cut away the excess body fat when you’ve reached your desired size. Cutting back on your calories too early can hamper your muscle growth.

Muscle helps your body to metabolize fat faster, so it makes sense to do it in this order.

Third Rule – Cut Down On The Alcohol

While Brad Pitt’s character in Fight Club, Tyler Durden, seems to have a care-free attitude to his health, you can’t take the same approach if you’re looking for how to get a body like Brad Pitt. And cutting down on alcohol is one of the first things you should do.

Alcohol is an empty calorie and contains little to no nutritious value. Worse than this, it is regarded by the body as a toxin and is sent as a priority to the liver in order to be processed and flushed out of the body. This prevents the liver from processing fats and can cause you put on fat particularly around the belly and waist area.

So, if you want to get a body like Brad Pitt, cut down on your alcohol intake…you’ll feel better and look better in the long run.

Six Pack Abs Routine – The 2 Best Exercises to Sculpt Tight Abs

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Let’s face it, six pack abs are the end goal of a lot of men and women. They’re a status symbol in some ways. They shout: “I care about my body and I work really hard to maintain it.” For most people, six pack abs are a pipe dream. However, if you’re willing to put in a strong effort and focus on eating well and exercising hard, you may one day realize this dream.

The 2 Rules of Six Pack Abs

Before I get into specific ab exercises, I need to lay out a few ground rules, ala Brad Pitt in Fight Club:

1. The first rule of six pack abs is that you need to have low body fat

2. The second rule of six pack abs is that you NEED to have low body fat

Generally speaking, if you’re not under 10% body fat, you likely won’t be able to see your abs even if you have an exceptionally strong core. To reduce your body fat below 10% is outside the scope of this article, but you’ll need to focus on a calorie restrictive diet to burn fat and resistance training to ensure maintenance of muscle. Throw in some high intensity interval training (HIIT) to accelerate fat loss as well. Unfortunately the only other ingredient is time. If you diet and exercise in a proper manner, you will lose body fat.

Renegade Rows

Assuming your body fat is low enough and you’d like to tighten up your core, renegade rows are an excellent abdominal strengthening exercise. To perform renegade rows, take a set of dumbbells and get in a pushup position (the “up” position) with your feet spread about shoulder width apart. With one arm, slowly pull the dumbbell up to the side of your body without twisting and slowly lower it. Repeat with the other arm; this is one rep. Renegade rows require you to tense up your abs to maintain your balance. I recommend starting with very light dumbbells until you get the form correct. Try to aim for 3 sets of 5 reps. This can be a dangerous exercise if you cannot maintain your balance. If the arm that is in contact with the ground slips, there is nothing to stop you from falling face first.

The Plank

Anyone involved with yoga is aware of the plank. So how did it make its way into the best ab exercises? Well, it doesn’t require any compression of the back and forces you to tense up your abs. To execute a plank, get in a pushup position (the “down” position) with your stomach on the ground and feet together. Instead of lifting with your hands, raise your body up on your forearms and toes and hold the position. You may not feel anything at first but after a minute, holding your back perfectly straight becomes very challenging. Try to do 2 minutes.

If the regular plank becomes too easy, you can add weight to your back. Additionally, if you’d like to develop your obliques further, then try performing side planks by resting on one forearm with your body perpendicular to the ground.

The Crunch: Your Worst Enemy

I can’t talk about a six pack abs routine without talking about crunches. These are not on my recommended list. Crunches put a strain on your lower back as you contract your abs forward. The best parallel I can provide is that you wouldn’t bend at your back to pick up a heavy box; you would squat and use your legs. What are crunches but a horizontal version of a back bend? Recall that the function of abs is to keep your spine straight. Are you really teaching your abs to keep your spine straight by continuously bending your back?

Burn Fat to Showcase Your Six Pack Abs

Renegade rows and planks can help you sculpt really defined six pack abs. However, without low enough body fat, those defined six pack abs might just be sitting under a layer of fat. Don’t think that you can spot reduce that fat by doing crunches either. You’ll only wind up with a sore lower back. You’re much better off focusing on a calorie restrictive diet, resistance training, and HIIT. The best six pack abs routine utilizes renegade rows, planks, or other exercises that involve keeping your spine straight. If you work hard to lower your body fat and perform these exercises, you’ll be able to sculpt six pack abs in no time.

Who Are the Fertita Brothers?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

If you are a fan of Ultimate Fighting Championships, which is nicknamed UFC, then The Fertita Brothers is a common family name to you. In their field of work, Frank and Lorenzo Fertita are not only deemed as Ultimate Fighting moguls, but they are casino kings among the ranks of Donald Trump and affiliates alike. In the May 2008 issue, they are gracing the front cover as the honorary billionaires on Forbes magazine.

Ultimate Fighting Championship is a favorite sports program which started out as a small time fight club venture. People from all walks of life pay big bucks to see men bloody each other up on pay per view cable networks. Starting out as a cash bleeding experiment, they bought UFC in 2001 for only two million dollars. With patience over time, they built the fight business up to become a “Bloomberg” like cash machine, minus catering to the financial services industry. To view a pay per view fight on a television sports channel in the comfort of a household, folk pay as as much as two hundred fifty dollars per “TV” program order on cable subscription.

The Fertita brothers got their start in entrepreneurialism through their father, who was a marketing genius. The brothers were born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. The father moved to Vegas from Texas at age 20. How was Father Fertita a mastermind at his style of business marketing? A wise man he was, when he decided to entice customers to spend money at his newly built casino “Bingo Palace” in 1976, by giving away unimaginable things people go to work and bust their behinds for so hard everyday. These goodies Father Fertita gave to people served on a golden platter include luxury automobiles and brand new homes with no mortgage to pay at all. A few years down the road, Bingo Palace was renamed to Palace Station.

These two brothers who are business minded are respectfully acknowledged in the world of entrepreneurialism I admire them greatly, because they came together with a legitimate plan for success. Like minded brothers Frank and Lorenzo turned a thought into a billion dollar reality.

The Democrats on the Issue of War

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Our fathers and grand fathers fought in World War I and, World War II. The Democrats cry bring the soldiers home. Do they realize our twin tours are no longer standing? Do they realize they lost american lives on our own homeland? Hillary Clinton wants to bring the troops home. Yet, her own husband’s life was threatened by terrorists? Sense? The liberals are worried about environment solutions, eco friendly, what? There won’t be any environment to work for us if they don’t let the government fight this war.

This is going to be a long war. Not one easily identifiable. The liberals keep police from asking for a valid drivers license from someone who is not from this country. We are allowing possible terrorist into this country because we may be violating this policy? I know of police officers who signed up to go to Iraq twice because they realize our freedom is at stake. They know the duty they need to fulfill. Our forefathers were fighters. They fought to gain freedom.

Have we gone soft? I know what it’s like to wait every day for someone to come home. I am with a police officer. He’s life is in jeopardy every time he goes to work. He has gotten death threats from drug dealers. More people are shot and killed in the USA due to violence more than in Iraq. The city of Philadelphia has shootings every night.

Let the soldiers do what they need to. Support them, pray for them. Liberals, pick a different focus for your campaign, focus on poverty. Clean up the surrounding areas that need help. Focus on the job bank. But, let the soldiers fight the war that needs to be fought. They are brave men and women who need to be commended. They know what they are doing. Let them be.

Muhammad Ali Memorabilia

Image : http://www.flickr.com

One of the most collectible areas regarding Muhammad Ali is Site Memorabilia. Typically, Boxing Programs, tickets and posters from Muhammad Ali’s actual fights.

Ali site memorabilia ranges from his early amateur days through to his last professional fight against Trevor Berbick in 1981. Some collectors even collect site memorabilia from his many worldwide exhibition contests which can be just as rare.

The reference guide for any Muhammad Ali Site Memorabilia collector should be the 1997 Christies LA Paloger Auction guide. This book contains many photographs of Boxing Programs, tickets and Posters from the majority of Ali’s contests.

The desirability and price of Muhammad Ali site memorabilia is governed mainly, and not in necessarily in this order, by:

Significance of the fight:

The biggest Ali fights will always attract even the casual Ali site memorabilia collector and even though they might not be the rarest items, their desirability means they

Are a premium item

Clay Liston 1 - Ali wins Heavyweight Title for the first time

Ali Frazier 1 - Fight Of The Century

Ali Foreman - Rumble In The Jungle

Ali Farazier 3 - Thrilla in Manilla

Rarity

For certain Ali fights, more programs and posters were produced than sold at the fight. Site memorabilia for certain fights may have been found hidden away in a warehouse and recently discovered.

Condition

If a program, poster or ticket has fold marks, creased corners or water stains, etc,

Then it will obviously not be as collectible as an item in Mint Condition.

Boxing Programs

Muhammad Ali site programs are probably the most widely collected of all Ali site memorabilia. Many collectors are after the holy grail of collecting every Muhammad Ali fight program. Some of Ali’s early programs were just 1 page bout sheets.

Closed Circuit Programs were produced during Ali’s career and these should not be confused with the Actual Site Programs.

Prices for Muhammad Ali Site programs can range from $15 up to and over $5,000 for the rarer programs.

Boxing Tickets

Again a much sought after site collectible, there are different variants of a Muhammad Ali site boxing ticket.

Full tickets, with the stub still attached, are the rarest and most collectible. These are tickets that were purchased for the actual fight and the original owner either could not attend, or he had the foresight to get the ticket attendant to not rip the ticket or the ticket had holes punched in it.

‘Printer Proof’ tickets do not have a seat number and were usually produced by the printer as part of the initial print run as spares before being numbered. Still collectible they are not worth as much as the original Full Tickets. They sometimes have holes punched in them so they could not be used.

Stubless tickets are also very collectible, due to the rarity of Full Tickets.

Ticket Stubs can be very collectible especially in the absence of the other variants. This is especially the case with the early fights in Ali’s career.

Phantom tickets were made for fights that did not take place such as Ali-Liston 2 which was postponed. Always check the date and venue against Muhammad Ali’s ring record.

Closed Circuit tickets are from theatre venues that showed the fights and are least collectible.

Again the prices of Muhammad Ali site tickets can range from around $50 up to and over $5,000

Boxing Posters

Site Boxing Posters were used in and around the actual venue to advertise the forthcoming fight, date, ticket prices, and usually consisted of pictures of Ali and his opponent. They vary in size and vibrancy but are not usually smaller than say 18×22.

Few survived the actual event and thus are indeed very collectible and scarce.

Closed Circuit Posters and movie posters were produced in numerous quantities for worldwide theatre venues but are still collectible.

Prices can range from $500 up to and over $10,000 for rare Muhammad Ali site Boxing Posters.

Conclusion

I have, through the years, collected all types of Muhammad Ali’s site Memorabilia. However, in recent years I have concentrated on Ali site boxing posters. The main reason was that I would store my programs and tickets in binders hidden away in the loft. My posters would be framed (for protection) and hung on the walls. These posters would provide much discussion and pride with any visitors. The expense of purchasing my remaining ‘wants’ made it necessary to make a decision to concentrate on a single type of Ali site memorabilia. However I just purchased two full Ali Frazier 1 tickets! We collectors never learn!

Other Site Memorabilia (sleepers)

There are many other items of site memorabilia which in my view make a great investment which are obtainable at reasonable prices. Such varied items that can be seen are commemorative Everlast Gloves from Ali Frazier fights, Pennants from fights, pins, and even seat cushions from the Ali Holmes fight!

Caution

With the advance in today’s printing techniques I have come across reprinted tickets, programs and posters from various Ali fights. The same rules apply to site memorabilia as collecting autographs.

5 Tips to Hit the Driver Correctly – Hit the Golf Ball Long and Straight!

Image : http://www.flickr.com

There is a definite science to hitting the driver correctly. It’s designed differently than the rest of the golf clubs, so it needs to be treated as such. Here’s 5 simple tips for hitting the driver correctly that will give you more distance and accuracy every time.

1) Tee It Up Higher- Especially with the new technology drivers. You need to tee it up higher so you can hit the ball on the sweet spot of the club face, which is in the upper middle of the face.

2) Put the Ball Off Your Left Foot- You want to align the ball with the inside of your left foot or even more towards the front of your stance with the driver. This will ensure you hit up on the ball, which will impart less spin on the ball, which will give you more distance.

3) Get the Correct Shaft- Make sure someone properly fits you for the driver shaft you use. You may be swinging perfectly, but if the shaft is all wrong for your swing speed and style, then you will never hit the long drives you are actually capable of.

4) Tee It Higher Into the Wind Also- Into the wind? You still want to tee the ball relatively higher. If you tee it low, you will swing down on it, or hit it lower on the clubface. Either way, that will cause back spin and make the ball go off line and shorter.

5) Grip the Driver Lighter- “Grip it and rip it” is what we’re used to hearing. But the harder we grip the driver, the more tense the little muscles are, which will slow down our swing speed. Grip it lighter to free up your inner bomber.

New York is the excellent city and from the very beginning, it has been serving the mankind in many ways. It is true that New Yorkers lead very sophisticated lifestyles and they prefer the swinging and bouncing life.

However to some extent it is really true but this city has the brilliant performance track record in the sphere of education and enlightenment. How? Ok the fact is that there are many internationally recognized education centers, schools, colleges, universities and research institutes in the city. After setting your foot on the soil of New York, you must visit FDNY Fire Zone. You can visit this institute free of cost. However there is hidden cost amounting to $5 per capita for watching the Fire-Stimulation show. In this Fire Zone the students are basically trained how to extinguish fire and how to get control over the devastating fire which will rip through building and housing complex. Especially, children will learn a lot to see the fire safety activities.

The fire fighting personnel will be clad in heavy clothes and mask. It will be peculiar experience;. They will be familiar with the fire fighting accessories. This type of exhibition will help the young kids to know the different procedures of extinguishing fire and in future if they face such problem in life they will be able to overtake the critical situation.
